Pitching Wins It All

On Saturday morning, I got up around 9:20 in the morning. I suddenly realized that the game was about to start! That was pretty cool.

Clayton Richard went six innings, allowing one unearned run on four hits. He was good. The bullpen of Adams, Gregerson, and Bell were amazing too. Heath got his 38th save.

The Pirates got a run in the bottom of the first. Everth drove one in in the third. The game stayed 1-1 until the top of the ninth. Henry Blanco hit a sac-fly and Heath was actually able to get the save with only a one-run lead! Wow, that shave must have really worked!!

heathsave.jpgJake Peavy made his first start with the Chicago White Sox on Saturday night. He hadn’t been on the mound since like June 8th. It had been a looooooong time. Let me tell you, he looks pretty hot in black, but his colors will always be Padre blue. Anyways, he threw very well. He only went five innings, but he allowed three runs. And of course, the strikeouts are still there. He got five of them. And he got the win, so it was a good outing for him. Miss you Jake!!

oh man he's beautiful!!.jpg

jakechisoxside.jpgYesterday, Kevin Corriea started for the Padres. Oh wow, he was good!! He threw seven innings, allowing six hits, no walks, and five strikeouts. He got his 11th win of the season. He was amazing yesterday!!

kcorpirates.jpgAdrian drove in his 90th run of the season. Oscar Salazar had three hits and drove in a run. It was a pretty wonderful game as we won 4-0. That was the 15th time this season that the Pirates had been shut out. Oh man.

Luis Durango was walked in one of the later innings yesterday. Guess what he did? He stole second, moved to third on an error, and scored on a sac-fly. Wow, this guy is good.

It was a great, great game, and now my boys a guaranteed a tie of the series. But why not get the series win tonight?

I had a dream last night that the Padres won the NL West. It was so exciting! I looked at the standings this morning and there’s no possible way that the Padres could win anything this year. But that’s OK. I’m so excited about next year!! I think we’ve got a huge chance to win the NL West next year. It’s going to be so much fun!!

Speaking of playoffs, we’re probably going to get some clinching done in the next few weeks. We only have two weeks left of baseball, you know. I am so excited about the postseason. It’s going to be great!!

OK, so my little cutie Wade LeBlanc is pitching tonight in the fourth game against the Pirates. GO WADE!!

It just isn’t right seeing Peavy in White Sox black, your so right when you said that his true colors will always be Padre blue, seeing as how I have no ties to either of those teams I wish him the best. As for your Padres, i’m looking forward to seeing big Chris Young back on the mound, whenever that may be
