We’re Going To Make It!!!

Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. You know, we would wait until the very last week of the season to determine who’s the best in the West. Sigh. I guess it just adds to the ridiculous amount of drama around here.

Like, are we going to be able to beat the Cubs? Are the Braves going to fight for the Wild Card? Are the Rockies going to get back into the race? Are the Diamondbacks going to be able to knock out the Giants? Will the Division leader be determined in the next few days or in the three-game showdown of the Giants and the Padres to close out the season?

That’s a lot of questions, and I know you can see how much dramatic flair there is to this end of the season. Which is cool, I guess. Maybe for fans of any other division. But for me, Padres fan, this is sooo super stressing. I have 100% confidence in my boys, but the problem is, I can’t control what the other teams are doing. It’s not like it’s totally up to the Padres to win the West right now. There’s so many other factors that are out of our control.

We’re going to get into the playoffs, guys. Somehow, someway, we’re going to get there. Of course, I’d prefer if we win the West, but the Wild Card would be okay too. As long as we get in there, we’ll be good.

But I have a feeling that it won’t be decided until this three-game series against the Giants. Figures. Oh man it’s going to be crazy.

Don’t you dare stop believing.

GO PADRES!!!!

GO PADRES!!!

The Padres beat the Dodgers 6-0 in an essential game in Dodger Stadium last night.

Clayton Richard threw his first career shutout and outfielder Ryan Ludwick drove in four runs as the Padres stayed 0.5 games behind the Giants in the NL West.

It was such a sweet game! I was so happy with Clayton’s performance. He did seem to be allowing quite a few of runners, but man, he threw a shutout, so I guess he did fine. He allowed eight hits, walked two, and struck out six. But seriously, we needed that outing. Not only did he just throw a great game, he allowed a well-deserved rest for the bullpen. Hopefully with a couple days off, these guys will be rested and ready to get out there and hold down everyone for the next 12 games.

12 games. Can you believe that? I absolutely cannot. It seems like the season just started! It’s unbelievable to me that we only have 12 games left in the regular season. Insane. That just goes to show how much fun we’ve been having…the time flew by.

We’ve come so far this season. Nobody expected these boys to be on top of the NL West period, much less for almost the entire season. No one expected them to be in the playoffs, but that’s where they’re headed.

I kind of wish we were like the Minnesota Twins right now. They clinched last night. But the NL West is probably not going to be decided until like the last series. How exciting would that be to clinch against the Giants? Take over the division and then win it. Oh boy. I’m hoping that we’ll be able to do it before then, but man…take about tension and excitement. That would be crazy.

We really needed that win last night, and I’m so glad we were able to find our bats and get it. Even better was that I got free pancakes at Denny’s this morning because the Padres scored six runs. Check it out. http://xx1090sandiego.com/pages/dennys. It’s pretty sweet.

I am very disappointed in the Chicago Cubs, though. Last night they lost 1-0 to the Giants. Somehow they could not get one stinking run across the board, much less two to beat SF. They’d better get their game on tonight and BEAT THOSE GIANTS!!!

Starting Friday is “San Diego Padres Week.” Seriously. It’s official and everything. I’m so excited about it 🙂 🙂

Tim Stauffer is pitching against Ted Lilly tonight. Let’s do this.

GO SHOULD BE IN FIRST PLACE PADRES!!!!!! BEAT LA!!!! GO CUBS!!!!!
