This whole 2011 season for the San Diego Padres has been a downpour of depression, but once in a while, they surprise us and come out with a ray of sunshine.
Tonight’s game was one of those games where you get really excited about Padres baseball. I know that we won’t be able to keep it up for the rest of the season, but it’s really nice to have a game that you can be happy about.
Tim Stauffer threw a great game, and his offense actually helped him out this time. Stauff went six innings, only allowing four hits with four strikeouts. He got the win to even his record at 6-6.
We got two runs in the top of the first with two straight doubles, which started off the game on a great note. Then we added another run in the seventh on an error and the fourth run in the top of the ninth.
We had 11 hits in the game, which was great. Will Venable, Cameron Maybin, Ryan Ludwick and Orlando Hudson all had two hits each.
Such a good game 🙂 Like I said, I’m really happy about this game. Granted, we are playing the Marlins, but hey, a win is a win.
Aaron Harang is pitching tomorrow. Let’s get the series win!
