Can’t Get Worse Than This
I am so sad about the Padres right now, like you wouldn’t believe.
We just lost 1-0 for the second day in a row to the Los Angeles Dodgers. But more than just a loss, we had a no-hitter going until the bottom of the ninth with two outs.
It seriously can’t get worse than this.
The Padres have never, ever had a no-hitter in the history of the club. To come that freaking close, and not get it…it’s heartbreaking.
Well, we probably wouldn’t have been able to keep it much longer anyway because we hadn’t scored any runs so it would have had to go into extras. But in the bottom of the ninth, with two outs, Luke Gregerson allowed a double and a single to lose the game.
We were one-hit ourselves. Cameron Maybin got that one hit.
But man, we can’t score a run. We lose by one stinking run. I’m pretty sure this is going to be a horrible second half.
But I’m a Padres fan forever. Even if we don’t win another game this season, I will still be a Padres fan.
Being a Padres fan isn’t easy. But it’s what I am. It’s what I do.
Congrats to Derek Jeter on getting his 3,000th hit. Even though I am not a Yankee fan (GO RED SOX!!), this guy is probably one of the best baseball players out there. So good job bud.
Kaybee: Just watched the end of today’s Dodgers/Padres game…feel bad about the lack of offense. I admire your loyalty to your team.
Hard to believe the Padres have never had a no-hitter. Their history of great pitchers and playing in a pitcher’s park should be the perfect mix.
