Back Home

IMG_3097.JPGI’m back! It was a very long weekend of serving at the camp in the mountains, but I had a lot of fun. We got a bunch of snow as we were driving up, and had to put on chains and stuff, but I was in falling snow for the first time in my life. I loved it. What I didn’t like as much was all the walking I had to do for the next few days on the ice and then the slush. This morning it snowed, hailed, and rained a lot. But we got out with no problems and got home around 2:30 this afternoon. It was pretty cold, but I was well bundled up. I think I am getting a cold, ’cause there was a virus going around our group. Also, we were working with a ton of people and handling a lot of food. It probably didn’t help that it was really cold outside. I am very tired, but it was a really great weekend, and I had a wonderful time.

I feel so behind on everything baseball. I will try to get to as many of all your blog entries as possible, but I think I need to go sleep soon. Anyways, evreything sounds great on the Padres side. Jake loves being a Padre and doesn’t want to leave. Heath Bell, our new closer, has lost 25 pounds by using Wii Fit. That’s great news! Greg Maddux is going to be coaching for the Padres in Spring Training. That’s really exciting. We all know how great Maddog was as a player, and he will be an incredible coach. I am so excited about baseball! It’s going to be a very fun season.

In the latest leaders, I got #29. Again, I do not know of prominent Padres player who wore #29. Hmmm…maybe I’ll have to go to the minors again.

Great to have baseball back! I am very excited to see what my Padres will do. Meanwhile, I think I will get some sleep…

Kaybee – I am so glad you finally got to see falling snow. Yes, after the fact it can be a mess – but very little is as beautiful as a vista covered in a fresh coat of snow. Get some sleep and I hope you feel better soon!

Welcome back! I hope you had fun. It’s nice that Heath lost 25 pounds just by playing Wii Fit! I saw that article on yahoo 🙂 I’m really happy that Maddux will coach for our Padres. Get some rest and congrats on your ranking!

JANE, that was a great valentine! Thanks!

JULIA, yeah, it was beautiful! Thanks!

HYUN YOUNG, yeah, having Maddog in camp will be amazing!

SUE, thanks. Yeah, that was the view outside of my cabin window. Isn’t that amazing?

I got a great player you can do a profile on that wore # 29 with the Padres. He is also going to be on the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot for the first time in 2010. He played for your team from 1991-1993. He also played for my Rays and had a great career in the majors. Older Padres fans remember Fred McGriff for his first base defense and his home run hitting.

Just thought I would help you out. You also had a great left handed pitcher named Mickey Lolich and also second baseman Bret Boone who wore that same number 29 when they played for the Padres. Sorry, I am a bit of a baseball nut and have a lot of usless information in my mind. lol

Snow in the mountains is the best, but I am not so sure about the hail and sleet. The picture was awesome.

Get some sleep! That’s so great what you did up there in the mountains!! It will be great to have Greg Maddux in the organization, and I”m sure you’re glad that Peavy will be staying. That’s so funny that Heath lost weight via Wii Fit!!

RAYS RENAGADE, thanks so much for the info! I’ll have to check these guys out. And I love that picture!

    BOB, I think I have…

XCICIX, yeah, he seriously could. I think it’s great that he has lost some weight and will hopefully be able to pitch better for it!

ELIZABETH, I slept 14 hours from last night to late this morning, but I am still pretty tired 🙂

Sounds like you got a taste of Ohio weather this weekend- oh the sacrifices we make to be Tribe fans!
Sounds like you had a great time, and along with the rest of the baseball world I’m very excited to see what Maddux has to offer from the other side of the mound!
    Get well soon,
